With Artificial Intelligence growing exponentially, generative AI is equally transforming the concept of creativity and imagination. These technologies have given us food for thought for what could be – from the cloning of realistic art pieces to constructing alternate realities. In a recent upsurge of creativity, AI has brought a new perspective to Indian cities – the cities blanketed with snow in case the Himalayas didn’t exist. This interesting visual journey was aired via a video on X. The video depicts various destinations across India in the winter scenario.
The initial clip is dedicated to the Taj Mahal and the snowy visual of the monument. Then, we have Marine Drive, Mumbai, which has been turned into a winter wonderland with snowflakes glittering under street lights. Rajasthan’s deserts are illustrated more as snow dune deserts rather than the hot ones which it is. The railway station at Chennai — the Central Railway Station is depicted with frosty tracks. Kerala backwaters look cool and serene. The palm trees are loaded with snow on the sunny beaches of Goa. Howrah Bridge over the Hooghly River in Kolkata is also covered in snow.
Several users expressed awe after watching the video. Comments started pouring in with some users excited about the chances of this snowy dream coming true. Others noted that the Himalayas play a vital role in ensuring an appropriate climate in the country.
A user humorously commented: “Toh chalwa do bulldozer (Then go ahead and start the bulldozer).”
Another person mentioned: “If there were no Himalayas, the northern cities of India would be affected by severe cold and snow storms in winter. Cold winds would come straight from the north and increase the chill in the whole country.”

A user explained: “Snowfall would have been extremely limited had there been no Himalayas. The Himalayas act as a barrier to the cold air masses from Central Asia, without mountains cold air would bypass the region leaving it warmer and unsuitable. Without the Himalayas, northern India would be inhospitable.”
