Watch: UP Man Drives Thar With Soil On Car Roof, Police Reacts

The viral video shows a man collecting a significant amount of soil on the roof of his Thar SUV and deliberately driving with it at high speed.

In a bizarre turn of events from Uttar Pradesh, a man was spotted collecting soil on the roof of his Thar SUV, only to take it all the way on a busy road. Raising concerns about road safety and hooliganism, the incident is reportedly from UP’s Meerut while a video documenting the man’s overall activities has gone viral. Social media users called out the city administration, also criticising such hooliganism and lack of public awareness.

The video unfolds to show a young man with his SUV parked in the middle of a field. Using a shovel, he digs out a significant amount of mud from the ground and heaps it on his car roof. What follows next is the man driving the car at high speed on the road, putting the lives of fellow motorists at risk as the dusty mud continues to fly all around his vehicle. Unbothered by the inconvenience caused due to the dust for other drivers and vehicles on the road, the man was seen driving at high speed.

While the reason behind such an act is still unknown, the Meerut police have taken cognisance of the matter and are investigating it. In response to one of the users’ videos, Meerut Police wrote, “Traffic police were directed to take necessary action.”

Speaking on the same, the Meerut City Superintendent of Police shared that the case is being investigated in regard to the vehicle number. “CCTV footage is being scrutinised while the locals are being questioned. He will be charged under the relevant sections. The offender’s license can be revoked and the vehicle could be seized,” he said.

In the meantime, social media users also voiced their concerns on the incident.

One wrote, “Thar should be seized and its license should be permanently cancelled… and he should be punished separately.”

Another commented, “Hobby of making reels by throwing mud on Thar with a shovel. Firstly he drove the Thar on the wrong side and played with his own life as well as others’ lives.”

“Is this foolishness or harassing a pedestrian on the road? I don’t know what has happened to the youth these days. Who knows what they are doing in the pursuit of making reels,” a comment read.

The identity of the Thar driver in question is yet to be known.
