An official event in China ended up being a dose of unintended humour. The Sichuan Province held an event in the city of Chengdu on March 1, 2019, and little did the attendees know that they were in for a visual treat. Organised by the Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Planning and Natural Resources, the official ceremony was to focus on the brilliant outcomes of the community.
During the ceremony, a man approached a large clear glass door. In the most incredibly comical way possible, he ran straight into it because it was almost invisible. The man ended up shattering the glass door and leaving convention attendees stunned. The man fell through the door, disrupting a boss’s speech.
A moment of stunned silence swept over the delegates of the room and laughter ensued almost immediately. The fiasco was trending on different social media sites post-event.
Even after this high-speed crash, the man survived unscathed, News Flare reported. He even laughed at himself and this made the amused spectators cheer and clap for him. On its part, event organisers moved to work, changing the glass door with considerable swiftness to give back the standard look of the place, the media outlet added.
The video gained a viral status again on Instagram with over 5 million views, leaving online spectators in stitches.
A user commented, “Quite an entrance”.
Another user said, “Well, that’s called timing”.
A third user went down the embarrassing part of it stating, “Lol imagine awkwardly getting up, dusting yourself down and walking off after that”.
A user humorously mentioned, “Dude just got docked 1000 social credits”.
“I know I shouldn’t laugh but there is so much to look at”, a user commented.
“And that’s the last time he was ever seen”, a user mentioned jokingly.
“Eternal dishonour”, a comment read.
In his defence, glass doors really should come with warning labels.
