A man had a close call with a frilled-neck lizard while exploring in a forest in Australia. A video shared on social media shows the man running away from the reptile. It also captures the lizard climbing up the man’s body to his back. Often surprising videos related to animals are posted on the Instagram account Nature is Amazing.
In the video, a frilled lizard is seen on an empty road. When the person moves towards the lizard, it immediately inflates its neck and opens its mouth. It starts following the person. It goes wherever the person goes. After that, it climbs on the person’s back and starts showing its dangerous form. The frilled lizard is not poisonous. It only inflates its neck to scare its enemy.
This video has received more than 2 crore views, while many people have given their reactions by commenting. One said that this is a common thing in Australia for a person to happen like this. Another one added that even though they are not poisonous, their teeth are very sharp, and if they bite, then it hurts a lot.
A few days back a similar clip went viral. Instagram user Enzo Semaskovish had a close encounter with a frilled-neck lizard while he was exploring the Australian Outback. Sharing the video on his Instagram handle, he wrote, “When a lizard mistakes you for a tree.”
The video opens to show the lizard on a dirt road with its skin flap unfurled. Upon spotting the lizard, Semaskovish tries running away. However, the reptile chases him and finally catches up to him. As the video progresses, the lizard is seen climbing up his leg and torso. Once the reptile reaches his shoulder, it suddenly halts, jumps down, and disappears behind nearby trees.
The clip went viral within no time. The post has also prompted people to share varied comments. “Wait, I know people said they’re harmless, but if one started running after me like that, I’d be screaming and crying,” wrote an Instagram user. “Walks up to you in a menacing way — climbs up you — realizes — disappears into the dried bushes — refuses to elaborate,” joked another.
