A group of friends went out for dinner at a well-known biryani joint on Hyderabad’s RTC X Road. They ordered biryani and were enjoying their meal when one of them found a cigarette butt inside the dish. A video of the same has now gone viral on social media, leaving the Internet shocked and disgusted.
The video opens to show diners protesting after finding the cigarette butt in their dish at Bawarchi. One of the friends lifts the plate to reveal the cigarette butt cooked into the biryani.
As the video goes on, members of the restaurant staff, including a representative of the hotel owned by Salman Mansoori are seen attempting to pacify the upset customers. They engage in discussions to address the diners’ grievances.

In the video, one of the men suggests that someone might have been smoking in the kitchen, leading to the contamination.
The video was shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) by Vineeth K with the caption, “Cigarette butts in Bawarchi biryani.” He further expressed that it’s perhaps better to learn how to cook biryani at home to avoid such incidents.

Earlier this week, food safety officers conducted inspections at various restaurants in Hyderabad’s Lakdikapul area and found three restaurants in violation of food safety guidelines. The team found rats, cockroaches, leftover food, and expired items among other things in the kitchens of these restaurants. One restaurant was even operating without an FSSAI license.
