Jocelyn Wildenstein, the 84-year-old Swiss socialite, is often called ‘Catwoman’ due to her cat-like features, which many believe are the result of extensive plastic surgery. But in a recent interview, she shocked people by denying ever having any surgery. Jocelyn explained that the idea of plastic surgery frightens her and she is worried about the unpredictable results. “I haven’t had plastic surgery. I am scared of what can happen, and I don’t like to have something heavy. Sometimes it is a bit heavy and terrible,” she told The Sun.
She also shared her experience with Botox and admitted that she has tried it twice but had an unpleasant reaction. “I don’t like Botox. Everyone has a different reaction to it. I have had Botox only twice. I don’t know if I am allergic, but when I had it, it did not go well with me. It was not a good result,” she explained. About the fillers, Jocelyn made it clear that she has never used those either saying, “I never did any fillers. I have some friends who had fillers and were not happy.”
Jocelyn gained significant public attention in the 1990s during her high-profile divorce from billionaire art dealer Alec Wildenstein. The split made headlines because of the massive settlement she received which included $2.5 billion and $100 million each year after the divorce. The couple’s relationship ended when Alec, according to Jocelyn, began openly displaying his extramarital affairs.
Throughout her years in the spotlight, there were constant rumours about Alec’s influence on Jocelyn’s appearance. Many speculated that Alec, a known lover of cats, encouraged her to undergo surgeries to get a more feline look. However, in a 1998 interview with Vanity Fair during their separation, Alec had firmly denied the claims. “She was crazy. I would always find out last. She was thinking that she could fix her face like a piece of furniture. Skin does not work that way. But she wouldn’t listen,” he had said.
Jocelyn had also denied the claims in an interview to Variety Fair where she insisted that Alec never pressured her into surgery. “He never pushed me… No, he always told me that I look very young. Until the day you don’t look young enough!” she had said.
Apart from these claims, she had also maintained her stand back then as well saying that her features were entirely natural. “The lynx has perfect eyes. If I show you pictures of my grandmother, what you see is these eyes — cat eyes — and high cheekbones,” Jocelyn had said.
In August this year, Wildenstein posted a throwback photo on Instagram of herself sitting on a couch with her baby daughter on her lap. The picture showed her natural look at the time which was quite different from how she looks now.
