To address student concerns and promote harmony in schools, the Hardoi police in Uttar Pradesh launched a creative initiative to resolve conflicts among children. They introduced pink complaint boxes in local schools allowing students to anonymously report any issues or problems they encounter. This initiative provided a platform for students to express concerns ranging from bullying and classroom arguments to more serious matters like mistreatment by teachers or thefts.
Every Tuesday, the police would visit schools to collect complaints from the pink boxes and take quick action. In November, they received 12 complaints. These included reports of bullying on the school bus, arguments between classmates and even cases where teachers punished students for not solving math problems. One student complained about a stolen sharpener, while another mentioned a noisy classmate causing disruption. Other complaints involved students fighting and using abusive language with each other.
“In compliance with the orders of Mr Superintendent of Police, 12 complaint letters were received in the pink complaint boxes in November, which were resolved promptly,” the Hardoi Police said in a post on X (formerly Twitter) along with the complaints received.

The police acted quickly and met with the students who shared their complaints. They helped resolve conflicts by listening to both sides and guiding them toward peaceful solutions. By addressing the issues fast, the initiative created a sense of security and trust among the students, improving the school environment.
Meanwhile, the initiative quickly gained attention on social media, with users sharing their thoughts and reactions.
One user commented, “While some of these are silly as expected from children, I think this is a good initiative if followed through.”
Another praised, “That’s pretty good. Kids need to know that their complaints will be looked into and demand accountability.”
“It’s great to see them stretching their potential and doing tasks exceeding their abilities,” someone added.

One user suggested, “Great initiative. Humble Suggestion: Instagram Reels of resolving such disputes & acknowledging suggestions of students should also be made so that more awareness is spread in the student community, which is very active on social media.”

Meanwhile, one quipped, “Do they take complaints 20 years old? My safety pin was lost. I can provide clues too. It was rusted and slightly twisted too,” and another jokingly wrote, “Law and Order, Season 7″
