Bryan Johnson, the 45-year-old founder of Kernel, hit the headlines after a trip to India. Pulled by his ambitious project “Blueprint”, which serves as a plan to defeat ageing by sticking to a strict dietary plan, regular workout sessions, avoiding stress and utilizing modern medicine, Johnson’s newest revelation about his travel habits has spurred quite a bit of curiosity and ridicule. While visiting India, Johnson took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a rather unusual aspect of his travel preparations: he gathered enough food for six days of consumption.

The response on social media was swift, and in some cases, sarcastic. Many users trolled Johnson on X, referring to him as an “Indian auntie” who carries extra luggage while travelling. Memes and jokes filled the internet, with some people claiming Johnson has taken the concept too seriously, taking it to a level of absurdity.
A user humorously commented with a picture of a security check officer going through Johnson’s baggage that only has eatables in it.
Another user said: “Pity that you’re missing out on amazing cuisine. Living long without living well feels empty.”

Although some of the posts amounted to trolling, Johnson did not retreat to the corner. He took this opportunity to explain to them his health views and related science behind the foods he was taking. In various responses, he stressed that his approach is research-based and focuses on increasing the length and enhancing quality of life.
On his tour, Johnson also engaged with prominent individuals in the Indian technology sector such as Deepinder Goyal, the Chief Executive Officer of Zomato. The issues for discussion were health tech and possible developments regarding technological advancements that can help change eating habits globally.
Johnson’s rigorous age-reversal regimen involves waking at 4:30 a.m., eating a meticulously set plant-based diet, taking over 100 supplements per day, and undertaking novel therapies such as plasma transfusions. He spends millions of dollars each year on monitoring his health, all in the hopes of fighting aging.
