Now, when onion prices are soaring in the national capital, a Swiggy user made a hilarious request to a restaurant. The man’s unique approach to procuring the kitchen staple has caught the attention of many social media users.
In a viral post, a man could be seen making a plea to send extra cut onions to the restaurant, citing that the prices of onions have gone very high and he is unable to buy them. The post was shared by a user under the caption, ‘My flatmate placed the order and I found the bill.’
The receipt attached to the order read, “Bhaiyya, please send round-cut onions. Onions bohot costly hai (Onions are very costly), I can‘t buy them. Please send some onions, bhaiyya.”
The picture quickly went viral on social media, prompting several reactions from users. A person quipped, “Tomorrow’s newspaper – “Netizen ordered food on Swiggy and asked for extra round cut onions to beat inflation!”
Another one wrote, “E-bheekh.”
One of them commented, “Bheekh maangne ka tareeka thoda kazual hai (The way to beg is a little casual).”
A comment read, “I would have sent one onion.”
Many users asked if the user received the onions or not. Well, to everyone’s surprise, the restaurant obliged his request and sent extra onions with the order.
As per reports, onion prices have risen from Rs 40-60 kg to Rs 70-80 per kg at the wholesale markets. The price of onions has been on the rise in many states of the country including Mumbai and Lucknow.
