In preparation for the upcoming Rising Rajasthan Summit, Jaipur is undergoing significant enhancements to present a welcoming and vibrant cityscape for global investors. From sprucing up roads to beautifying walls, the Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) is working tirelessly to ensure the city shines. This effort is part of a broader initiative to elevate Jaipur’s appeal and highlight Rajasthan’s potential as a key investment hub.
A noteworthy aspect of these preparations is a unique campaign focused on transforming the lives of street beggars. The JMC has already rescued over 60 individuals from streets and intersections, relocating them to rehabilitation centers. The initiative’s primary aim is to make Jaipur beggar-free while providing a pathway for these individuals to lead dignified lives.
The rescued individuals are being provided with shelter, food, and essential facilities. Beyond basic needs, they are receiving skill-based training tailored to their abilities, empowering them to become self-reliant. This training will enable them to pursue work or small businesses, breaking the cycle of dependency.
Additionally, the campaign seeks to address the challenges faced by the homeless during Jaipur’s harsh winters, where lack of proper shelter often leads to fatalities. By offering accommodation in rehabilitation centers, the initiative ensures safety and comfort during extreme weather conditions.
The Municipal Corporation is also encouraging the involvement of social organisations and the general public to support this noble cause. Contributions for food, shelter, and other necessities are welcomed to strengthen the campaign’s impact.
Through these efforts, the JMC not only aims to enhance the city’s aesthetic appeal ahead of the Rising Rajasthan Summit but also strives to bring meaningful change to the lives of Jaipur’s vulnerable populations. The Rising Rajasthan Investment Summit is being organised on December 9, 10, and 11 at Jaipur. The event will be flagged off with an inauguration ceremony attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself.
